There two unique and distinct conceptual design ideas for the design of the architecture for Wild Rivers – Bakersfield.
HISTORIC BAKERSFIELD CONCEPT – Drawing inspiration from the Historic Bakersfield Archway, the architecture was developed as a historic reference to the history of the town. The Bakersfield Archway marked the formal entrance into the city as the abstracted Archway marks the public entrance into the water park.
BEACH “PIER” CONCEPT – Based on the conceptual idea of building a traditional Southern California Beach Town in the middle of the farmland surrounding Bakersfield, a unique idea for the Architecture was introduced, complete with a thematic “pier” element and the ancillary buildings associated with a pier.
Collaborating with Bundy-Finkel Architects, Donnie DeWees has served as both Project Design Director and Senior Project Manager on a series of water parks for the Wild Rivers Group.
