Located along busy Main Street in the heart of Santa Ana, California…Wash Tank Express is a revisioning of the existing classic old car wash building. The existing wash tunnel was enclosed and the two tower elements were introduced at the entry and exit of the wash tunnel creating two attention-grabbing visual elements. The towers are constructed with a translucent storefront glazing system and a decorative metal screen element which provides the car wash with ample signage opportunities along the busy street frontage.
The remaining architectural elements, painted in a bright blue also draw attention to the building and metal canopy elements mark the entrance and exit into and out of the wash tunnel. Three existing palm trees along the west elevation at the street frontage were retained and new drought-tolerant landscaping was placed around the remainder of the site.
