The Lincoln / Rose Mart is located in Venice Beach, California and takes it’s eponymous name from the busy intersection that it inhabits within the eclectic urban fabric of this iconic beach city. The building forms themselves draw their inspiration from the existing, simple gas station canopy as expressed as a white sloping planar roof element. Exposed steel columns, painted an eye-catching fire engine red also draw from the language of the gas station canopy.
The remaining exterior materials of anodized aluminum storefront systems and the wood clad “wall” element relate to the exterior building materials of the remaining buildings within the retail center.
