MURDOCK RESIDENCE A.D.U. ORANGE, CALIFORNIA

The Murdock Residence is a 390 Square Foot A.D.U. (Accessory Dwelling Unit) located in the City of Orange, California.  The A.D.U. is being developed as part of the new California A.D.U. Legislation under the following new regulations:

  • Assembly Bill 68 and 881
  • Senate Bill 13
  • Assembly Bill 670

These new regulations are intended to loosen existing A.D.U regulations in an effort to create much needed housing in Southern California.

This attached A.D.U. is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit that is tucked into the existing residence.  A compact floor plan allows for all of the usual amenities of a one-bedroom apartment.  There is also ample private patio and landscaped space located on the east and south sides of the A.D.U.   The floor plan was configured in a way that would allow the A.D.U. to remain a separate living unit or could easily be altered to be part of the main house as a bonus room and sleeping area in the future.

LOT SIZE – 6,919 GSF

EXISTING SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE – 1,577 GSF
