THEME PARK IN SHANGHAI, CHINA – “FOREST RETAIL SHOP” and “FOREST RIDE”

Set into the mythical, “Hundred-Acre Woods”, this retail store is themed after the sort of structures that the inhabitants of the woods would live in.  Made from stones from the creek and a grass-thatched roof, the retail shop is part of the dark ride that is also themed based upon A.A. Milne’s “Winnie the Pooh” beloved children’s books and the wild adventures that Pooh takes with all of his forest buddies.

Donnie worked for a world-renowned international themed entertainment company with Cotton-Fontana Architects for a 5.5 billion-dollar theme park in Shanghai, China. Donnie served as the Senior Project Manager for an eventual 50-person firm and worked on three different themed “lands”.  Donnie spent most of the first six months of 2013 in Shanghai assisting the local architectural firms, referred to as L.D.I.’s (Local Design Institutes), with the completion of the Construction Documents Phase of the project.
