'BUILDING WITHIN A BUILDING"
Located in the bustling auto dealership zone of Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa, California…Costa Mesa Mitsubishi needed to be eye-catching amongst the sea of other dealerships. The interiors of the showroom are conceived as a “building within a building”. An exposed steel and glass enclosed space, done in white and pale blue, is a crafted piece of architecture in and of itself referencing the meticulous detailing that goes into a Mitsubishi vehicle. Housing the Finance and Insurance Offices inside and the extension of a showroom receptionist on the outside, this jewel of a building provides both a unique and unforgettable visual element inside the cavernous showroom.
The entry into the building is marked by an exposed steel entry canopy that is designed to “float” in between the interior and exterior of the showroom which gives the entry canopy a sense of motion unto itself. A large, solid, grey-colored wall marks the back of the showroom serving as a contrast to the crisp white exposed steel of the interior building element.
