The Conceptual Design for the City of Sierra Madre Library was designed for the City’s Request for Proposals. The Design Team generated these images for the interview with the City of Sierra Madre Library, Planning and Public Works staff.
The design of the library was inspired, in part, by the following quotes:

Donnie DeWees designed this project while a Project Design Director at another firm.
The design concept behind the Proposed Library was to create an initial space in the library that would be, “A Window into, and a Window out from the Neighborhood Library. This large volumed space was designed to be as flexible space as possible to meet the current needs of the library while anticipating the many potential future needs. The exterior materials of the library, consisting of Stacked-Bond Brick, Glu-Laminated Wood Beams, Structural Steel Frames and a large wall of High-Efficiency Glass…relate to the exterior materials of the much beloved, mid-century Library built in 1955. A new landscaped entry garden was designed to retain the two primary Oak Trees that have stood in front of the Library for decades.
