Fire Station #43, in the Palms neighborhood of West Los Angeles, is a 15,273 S.F., six-bay facility that contains crew dorms for nine firefighters, four paramedics, and separate male/ female captain’s dorms.
The design of the building utilizes an exposed steel frame on the west and south facades of the building providing a heavy “screen” that helps mitigate the scale of the building. The steel frame also acts as a support mechanism for both vertical window shading devices and the public art pieces required for the project.
Fire Station #43 was designed to achieve LEED Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Size: 15,273 S.F., 6 Bays
