Ventura County Fire Protection District – Fire Station #42 is located in the Historic District of Old Towne Moorpark. We used brick, pre-cast concrete, and exposed steel arches to give a contemporary interpretation of an old downtown fire station to this 8,000 SF facility. The front of the station, facing High Street, the “Main Street” of Moorpark, is marked by the introduction of a clock tower, which gives the fire station a civic presence within the fabric of the historic district. In the interior stairway, a custom light fixture was crafted using an actual fire hose.
